Delano Park celebrates the joy of experiencing great art in an amazing landscape open to all people. In fact, the mission of the Delano Park Conservancy includes the goal of educating the community about Alabama’s cultural heritage through original works of art. Delano Park, itself, is an historic designed landscape and an example of landscape architecture in the City Beautiful movement of the nineteenth century. The WPA stone structures which are so beloved by park users are examples of the work of a pioneering female architect. Both the Rose Garden and Riverwild are magnificent examples of historic rehabilitations of historic landscapes. The fabulous sculptures and artwork by Alabama artists found in Riverwild tell the story of the flora and fauna of our great Tennessee River. Come play in this extraordinary landscape and share the magic of actually touching fantastic works of art!
